The Mississippi School of the Arts’ Senior class of 2023 will participate in commencement exercises on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 2:00pm. Limited tickets to the event, in Mary J. Lampton Auditorium, will be distributed by seniors. Please contact a senior to secure your seat.

Commencement Program

Briar Blakley, singer/songwriter, is an alum of MSA’s vocal music department. She appeared in season 8 of NBC’s “The Voice.”

  • Pledge — Katherine Daleke (SGA President)
  • Greetings — Dr. Suzanne Hirsch (Executive Director)
  • Salutatorian’s Address — Locklyn Wilchynski (Literary)
  • Valedictorian’s Address — Katherine Daleke (Visual)
  • Remarks — Dr. Donna H. Boone (Mississippi Department of Education)
  • Commencement Address — Briar Jonnee Blakley (Guest Speaker)
  • Presentation of Diplomas — Dr. Suzanne Hirsch (Exec. Director), Avery Peagler (Principal)
  • Special Music — “Let Your heart be Staid” by Randall Stroope, “MSA Alma Mater” by Dr. Jeanne Lebow and Patton Rice. Both selections to be performed by members of the MSA Chorale.
  • Recessional — “Grand March” by Gluck
