The Mississippi School of the Arts Foundation (MSAF) hosted its eleventh annual Summer Arts Camp for students in rising 8th–10th grades on the MSA campus.

Eighty-five campers from across the state of Mississippi participated in an intensive arts experience designed to inspire and develop young artists. Students selected two arts disciplines to study throughout the week, learning foundational techniques and engaging directly with MSA’s award winning arts faculty.

MSA faculty members provide hands-on, intensive instruction during three-hour class sessions daily. In the evenings, campers enjoy a variety of residential life activities, including a dance, talent show, water games, mystery dinner theatre, carnival, dance showcase, and MSA movie night.

MSA alumni serve as camp interns, assisting students as they navigate campus life and creative challenges. Campers may choose to stay overnight in the residence hall or attend daily as commuter campers. The camp takes place each year during the first full week of June. Scholarships are available by application.

The week concludes with culminating performances, a literary journal presentation, and an art exhibition for camper’s families.

This camp is supported in part by a project grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission.
