Join us for a special book signing and reading with Dr. Nadia Alexis, author of the debut poetry and photography collection Beyond the Watershed (CavanKerry Press, 2025).
Bringing together poetry and photography, Beyond the Watershed explores generational trauma, domestic violence, healing, and reclamation through the experiences of a Haitian American daughter and her Haitian immigrant mother.
In her vital poetic debut, Alexis uses stunning imagery drawn from the body, spirit, nature, and cityscapes to trace journeys to break free–documenting pain, making space for light, connecting with spirit, and becoming a reckoning on paths to safe waters and transformation.
Dr. Alexis will share selections from the book, sign copies, and engage with audience questions.
Books will be available for purchase. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
