Members of the Vocal Music department recently participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Southern Region Conference & Student Auditions in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Seniors Avery Smith, Aaliyah McCullum, and junior Hannah Smith all participated and advanced to the semi-finals. Hannah then advanced to the finals in Classical and Musical Theatre. Aaliyah advanced to the finals in Musical Theatre. In the end, Hannah Smith won 1st place in Classical and 2nd place in Musical Theatre. All three students were National Qualifiers.
From a previous virtual audition, Avery Smith was the top student out of all students across the state who auditioned to be in the MMEA/ACDA Conference Masterclass. Not only did Avery get to participate in the masterclass itself but will perform a solo during the conference concert in January 2024.
