In honor of NaNoWriMo’s Young Writer’s Program, we have invited Dr. Olivia Claire Friedman of the University to offer a Literary masterclass on novel writing at Mississippi School of the Arts. “Dr. Friedman offered so many wonderful tips on the best ways to approach their writing projects, developing and sticking to a writing schedule, character development, world building, ways to think about crafting strong sentences, how to avoid the write a strong middle and push through the end and more!”

We enjoyed learning about poetry revision strategies in a recent virtual masterclass with fellow Mississippi poet and librarian C.T. Salazar! One of the best parts was having the opportunity to see versions of a Sylvia Plath poem she worked on revising. Such useful information ahead of our own poetry revision work for exam week.
